Chevrolet has been working on it’s already lightning quick coupe, turning it into an even more fearsome beast.

It’s going to have a 6.2 liter V8 and will pump out over 600 supercharged horsepower, capable of speeds reaching 200mph. It features a carbon fiber roof, and a small redesign such as the decklid lip.

Last Janary, the new 2008 Dodge Viper debuted at the Detroit Auto Show. It added 100 more horsepower than it’s predecessor which had 500 horsepower. So now, the ‘08 Viper makes 600hp with an 8.4 liter V10 engine. It has a 0-60 time of 3.7 seconds and a top speed over 200 MPH. It will also be cheaper than the 2006 model because of a smaller gas guzzler tax it gets with it’s 13/22 city/highway rating.

A car that has been manufactured by Chevrolet since 1953, this is easily the most famous and easily distinguishable sports cars that America has to offer.
It’s been said many times before that American cars are not as well engineered compared to European cars. America represents strength, explosive power, just rawness and energy… in a straight line.

And when you want to go fast in a straight line, there is no other car for you than the Chevrolet Corvette. It’s one of the few iconic American cars that embody the speed and passion of a supercar, without a supercar price.
You’re looking at around $50,000 to $70,000 for 500hp. For comparison, a Porsche 911 Turbo would run around $120,000. That’s one hell of deal, because if you put in another $50,000 into a Corvette afermarket wise — it becomes a monster of a monster.
