Why cross drilled and slotted rotors?

Cross drilled and slotted rotors help with heat dissipation when you’re racing. For everyday street use, they wear out the pads faster, don’t help with ventilation all that much and lower brake force (because there is less surface area due to the holes cut for ventilation.

If you’re racing, they’re great. For every day street use, it’s much better just to get regular rotors because they’ll last longer.

A note on buying the first year of the new generation of cars

It’s important NOT to buy the first generation of cars, because the problems that the engines may have is untested. You could be buying a car that will be prone to a lot of problems and may have to deal with recalls, and other associated repairs.

It’s always better to let a year go by so that the car manufacturers can fix things about the new cars.
