Just wanted to share a cool video about the GT2 vs the Corvette. This pits two very quick, high horsepower cars against each other. It’s nice to see how a Corvette fares against a GT2 that costs twice as much as it.
This video shows the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1’s test run at Laguna Seca ahead of it’s debut.
It’ll have a supercharged 6.2 liter V8 engine called the “LS9″ and is expected to put out more than 600 hp giving it a 0-60 mph time of under 3.5 seconds!
It’ll be priced around $100,000 and will be entering showrooms as a 2009 model next year, with annual production expected to be between 1500 and 1750 units — making this beast a rare commodity.
Other than the really long names, these two cars share a lot in common: They’re both turbocharged, all wheel drive rally inspired cars with a very high horsepower per liter rating.
The Evo is powered by a 2.0 L 4G63 MIVEC (variable valve timing) engine that pumps out 286 hp and 289 ft-lbs of torque.
The Subaru WRX STi pumps out 300 hp from it’s 2.5 liter boxer engine.
California is one of the most populace places in the world, so it’s not surprising it’s home to many supercars. Here you’ll see a video of a bunch of exotics getting onto the freeway. It’s a lot of eye candy, so best clear up a few minutes of your schedule so you can check it all out.
