Nissan GT-R Engine details revealed

GTR Proto

The original Nissan R390 sported a 3.5 liter V8 known as the VRH35L. This Nissan GT-R Proto sports a V6 - the VR38VETT. Although it loses 2 cylinders, it gains 300cc of displacement for a grand total of 3.8 liters, and adding to the air intake are a couple of turbochargers.

This car is designed to give the Porsche 911 Turbo some competition. Both the cars have around 480ps horsepower, and while the GT-R has a little less torque, it makes up for it with it’s acceleration - approximately 1-60 in 3.9 seconds. The handling of the GT-R is a little less shaky than the 911, with it’s AWD drive train. Last but not least, the price of the GT-R is half of what the Porsche 911T; $68,698 compared to $158,267.
